The Federal Government under its Amnesty Programme has trained 60 ex-militants from the oil producing communities in Edo and Delta states on fish farming.
Speaking with journalists in Benin yesterday during the one-week entrepreneurship refresher training, the facilitator of the programme, Princess Ethel Eweka of Obax World Wide, said that as part of the programme, the Federal Government would open an account for them, register business names for them with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and monitor them for three months to know their challenges and ensure success of the programme.
“They will be trained on entrepreneurship skills, fish processing, breeding and feed production. As part of the practical, they will visit fish farms to see how fish is reared and be able to stand on their own,” she said.
