Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, wrote on his Twitter handle yesterday that the presence of some leaders of the #BringBackOurGirls campaigners at Wednesday’s presidential declaration of General Muhammadu Buhari confirmed the Presidency’s long held view that the group had a hidden agenda.
He said the presence of the group’s leaders confirmed the politicisation of the abduction of the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls.
Abati said the president would not be deterred by “political hustlers and agents provocateurs”.
He wrote: “Our longstanding view of BBOG movement’s hidden agenda to unseat the Jonathan administration received full justification yesterday (Wednesday.) Roles played by Dino Melaye and the presence of #BBOG’s initiator, Hadiza Bala Usman, at Buhari’s declaration is proof of the true aim of politicising the agony of the Chibok girls and their families.
“This is now fully apparent, the true agenda and prime movers of #BBOG movement. APC chieftains-BBOG activists.
