The expert, Prof. Joseph Ojo, who works with the Centre for Energy Systems Research, Tennessee Technology University in the United States, disclosed this in a research presentation to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) at the weekend after completing the NERC Fellowship Programme.
Citing his recommendations, Prof. Ojo said: “The second lesson is the need for expertise. We went to Katsina Power Plant; what I saw there was that the technology was very old. I asked why they brought this technology to Nigeria, something nobody is using elsewhere.”
