Dafa vigilantes call for govt support

Chairman of the vigilante group ShuaibuMadaki made this plea when Aso Chronicle visited the community.
He said that through the efforts of the group, many suspected criminals have been arrested and handed over to police for prosecution.
“We arrested about 12 recently who were caught stealing motorbikes and extorting money from villagers in the forest,” he said.
The vigilante leader said that they regularly comb the forest to fish out suspected criminals who used to hide under the cover of the night to perpetrate their evil act.
He solicited for government support in the provision of flashlight, patrol motorbikes and even guns for them to complement police effort in maintaining peace and security in the community.
He said: “We are grateful to the Kwali Area Council for its support but we need guns to effectively combat these criminals who are better armed than us. We use bow and arrows and only God gives us power to overcome them. The police in this community have been having cordial relationship with us and our partnership has drastically reduced the crime rate here.”
