Gombe restrategises to confront malaria

At a one-day workshop organized to review the strategies and ensure full compliance, especially as it concerns the Long Lasting Insecticide Net (LLIN), the review touches on popular links of enlightenment which is expected to impact positively on the knowledge of the citizenry.
According to Godson Kingsley Chinwe, the State Support Team leader from the National Malaria Control Booster Project in Abuja, the exercise identified the importance of the role of the media towards the success of the new strategies.
He said that there was need to have adequate knowledge about the new line of action and how to approach the matter with enormous preparedness so as to capture the hearts of the people to use the net properly as directed by the Malaria Control Booster Project.
He presented the organization’s 40 point’s timetable of action expected to last till November 8, 2014.
The timetable began with a verification of Gombe state’s preparedness for the implementation of the enhanced strategies which include engagement of LGA’s,  verification of recruitment and data.
According to the time table,  there has been media (radio) jingles and other useful messages since September 16, 2014 which was followed by media orientation on the Long Lasting Insecticide Net.
Distribution of the nets is billed to be carried out between October 29 and November 2, 2014.
