Speaking at a workshop with the theme: ‘’Strengthening Sub-National Humanitarian Co-ordination’’, he noted that most of those affected are from Bakori and Musawa Local Governments Areas of the state.
He said from available statistics, the figure of flood victims was low compared to last year, where about 4,000 people were affected in 21 local government areas of the state.
He further stated that in 2012, over 10,000 families were affected by flood covering about 24 local government councils.
He attributed the reduction to enlightenment campaigns on the need to take proactive measures against the disaster by SEMA and other stakeholders.
