The agency said the building, a relaxation spot, was a storey building with additional structures located within the indigenous setting, adding that no casualty was recorded.
FEMA Director, Alhaji Abbas Idriss, said that as soon as the collapse occurred, the agency began search and rescue operation and succeeded in rescuing five persons alive. Others were taken to various hospitals for treatment.
He said: “The building, Mimshack Relaxation spot, located at plot 290, Jikwoyi is a storey building with additional structures on an existing one storey. It is located within the indigenous setting and has no building plan approval. No stone will be left unturned to unravel every possible cause. No casualty is recorded.”
