The PDP has five aspirants in Kaduna State, namely, Hassan Felix Hyat, Senator Haruna Zego Aziz, Ismaila Yakawada, Jimmy Nabaida Dung and Yero.
The aspirants were not satisfied with the conduct of the ward and local government congresses, alleging that the processes were skewed to favour Yero.
Three of the aspirants, Hyat, Senator Zego Aziz and Ismaila Yakawada have earlier voiced out their grievances on the congresses at a media briefing, alleging manipulation in the bid to elect delegates.
A former member of the House of Representatives, Jagaba Adams Jagaba, also dumped the PDP for the APC over irregularities in the congresses. Jagaba’s defection was seen as a huge loss to Yero and the party, especially in the southern part of the state.
The three aspirants said they were not satisfied with the alleged involvement of Yero’s men and party officials in the congresses and have since then been having meetings to discuss how to confront Yero.
A party source said Hyat, Aziz and Yakawada are looking towards having a common front to face Yero in the primary election if the party fails to address the contending issues.
