Nigeria needs president with military background –Tsav

Tsav, who maintained that he was not calling for the return of the military to power, said the country would be better off with a president who has a military history.  

“A president with a military background would be better because the security situation in the northern part of the country has degenerated so much. But, if the military takes over, it will be too bad. They should not come,” he said.
The former police officer, who spoke to Daily Trust at the weekend in Makurdi, said the president is not doing enough to tackle the situation.

He also appealed to people of Benue State to refrain from giving the current crisis between herders and farmers in the state a religious or ethnic colouration as the government makes effort to resolve it.
