Fuel scarcity: Kano IPMAN inaugurates monitoring committee

This was disclosed by IPMAN Chairman in Kano Alhaji Bashir Ahmad Danmalam during a monitoring exercise of fuel stations in the state.
He said it was unfortunate that some parts of the country have been experiencing fuel shortage which he attributed to lack of supply of the product to the marketers.
According to him, Kano NNPC depot which used to cater for an average of 200 trucks, per day, can now only do so for 10 trucks.
 He said: “We at the helm of affairs in the independent market have to device a strong strategy in ensuring that the unfortunate fuel scarcity that befell our state is tactfully addressed. Kano depot that gives an average of 200 trucks in a day now only gives 10 trucks. So we have to device a means through which we can bridge the gap in the supply which involves bridging from Lagos State, we have also put in place measures to penalise any member found selling above the official pump price.”
The chairman said that they have held series of meetings with the Governor Dr Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso on the issue,  adding that the governor promised to assist the marketers get additional supply from NNPC.
