Nasarawa: Sarkin Fulani appeals to leaders over herders/farmers clashes

The Sarkin Fulani of Nasarawa State, Dr. Walid Jubrin made the appeal in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja.  He said both the Fulani and Tiv have lived together peacefully for ages and established a bond of relationship that should not be washed away easily by the unwarranted killings and destructions.
“Whatever is the case we must go back to peace talks and resolve the matter amicably.  We must bring back our past histories of pride and glory.  I believe that prominent and distinguished Tiv personalities must come and rescue the situation. Equally, the Fulani leaders are ready to do same,” the former senator said.
Sen. Jubril said the Tiv leaders should come to a roundtable discussion with Fulani leaders to end the skirmishes, which are daily consuming lives. “The Tiv and Fulani leaders have the capacity to avert further crisis by immediately appealing to both sides,” he said.
