This call contained in his New Year message to Nigerians yesterday.
While thanking God for keeping the country together despite the challenges,
Atiku said: “It is my hope that we all will face the future of our country with confidence and fervent hope that God will grant us the better tomorrow we are working for.’’
He also called on leaders at all levels in the country to strive towards reducing poverty in the country by introducing measures towards provision of jobs to the teeming unemployed youth.
The former vice president described as unacceptable worsening poverty in the country, which is daily taking its toll on the ordinary citizens.
He warned leaders not to take the patience of the people as indolence.
“With hard work and dedication, elected leaders and public servants can rise to the expected challenges of national development and economic prosperity to redress the deepening poverty of ordinary Nigerians in 2014,’’ Atiku said.
