No rift between me and my boss—Imo Deputy Gov

He also denied reports that he absconded from his job.
There were speculations that the deputy governor had a minor rift with the  governor which made the deputy to leave Owerri without permission.
Describing it as false. Madumere told newsmen shortly on arrival from America at the Sam Mbakwe International Airport Owerri yesterday that he traveled to USA on approval of the governor for medical trip.
He said: “ I traveled to the United States of America to take care of myself the same way other Nigerians do and today I am back fully strong to work”
The deputy governor who poured encomiums on Governor Rochas Okorocha for his assistance that enabled him travel out of the country to take care of his knee problem, thanked Imo people for their continued prayers.
He assured the people that he is back to the state to continue the Rescue Mission work of the governor adding that all that is left undone because of his absence will be completed.
He appealed to Imo people to continue to support the present government under Governor Rochas Okorocha assuring that the administration will always live to its expectation.
The deputy governor on arrival was received by his wife, head of service, political appointees, and family members.
