The Chairman of the party in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Comrade Abe Fisayo Makanjuola, told our reporter yesterday in Abuja that the party believed in the political ideals of its founding fathers, built on good governance, transparency, equity and justice.
“We want to mobilize the people for the 2015 elections as part of efforts to abolish poverty in Nigeria. We are not only trying to remove PDP from power, we want good governance. We are not going to rely on petroleum alone, we have other areas that can make money for this country,” he said.
He said the membership of the party is open to Nigerians from all works of life, irrespective of economic, social, cultural or political background, provided they want to chart a good course for democracy and the party.
Makanjuola said the goals of the party are in line with the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) with particular emphasis on full implementation of healthcare, education, employment, security, electricity and poverty eradication programmes.
The National Chairman of the party Dr Yunusa Tanko had recently announced at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that the party was in alliance talks with other parties and that membership of the party is open for individuals ahead of the 2015 elections.
