Town planners seek to partner defence ministry on land, security

National President of Chief Steve I. Onu  Npom  stated this when he  visited  the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Saad Ibrahim  in Abuja.
Chief Onu called for further collaboration between the Institute and the Military establishment towards reducing the menace of insecurity in the country through land Use Planning.
The NITP president said: “We are here to say a big thank you to the CDS and the Service Chiefs for honoring our invitation as well as presenting a paper at the just concluded Annual National Conference of the Institute held in Owerri”.
The CDS observed that the threat of illegal immigrants, kidnapping and smuggling could be effectively checkmated through surveillance of border posts and pledged to partner with the NITP in the area of Urban and Regional Development Plan that will enhance territorial integrity.
 He further appreciated the institute’s concern over security challenges in Nigeria.
