The Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ade Abolurin, has assured Nigerians of a hitch-free christmas and New year celebrations.
Dr. Abolurin while speaking in Abuja on Tuesday declared that the Corps has put plans in motion to tackle insecurity during the period.
The NSCDC boss said since criminals normally use festive periods to carry out their criminal activities, he has directed the massive deployment of the Special Forces Unit, SWAT Squad, Nuclear, Biochemical and Radioactive Units. (CBRN), The Counter terrorism unit and the Surveillance team among others to work round the clock in manning strategic places.
The Corps’ chief Executive called for synergy, partnership, collaboration, joint patrol and a good working relationship at all levels among security agencies so as to tackle any security challenges that might arise during the festive period.
He also appealed to the populace to report any suspected persons within their environment to the security agencies and personnel of the corps.
