President of WICE Mary Aibangbe made the appeal while addressing newsmen on the forthcoming conference of the association scheduled for October 7 to 11 at the Federal College of Education, Kontagora, Niger State.
Aibangbe said the theme of this year’s conference, “Curbing social ills: The role of the academia” would inculcate in its members the culture of writing, paper presentation and exposure to peer evaluation and criticism.
Stressing on the importance of educating the girl-child, Aibangbe said, “the most secure and productive female Nigerians today, and the ones most useful to themselves, their families and the society are the ones that are educated.”
She urged political leaders to accommodate more women in nation building by adding value to their lives.
She said the conference would also produce two journals which would not only be useful to women but others in the academia.
