Shettima, Jang, Wada mourn

Governor Shettima, in his condolence message through his media aide Malam Isa Umar Gusau, described the late Mohammed as a “humble, gentle, versatile and highly knowledgeable journalist” whom he once met on board a Lagos bound flight from Abuja, some years back, while Mohammed was working for Media Trust in Lagos.
“I once met Mohammed some seven years ago while I was in the bank, I was in a flight to Lagos from Abuja, we sat on the side by side and we had about an hour chat which proved to be one of my most interactive moments. Mohammed was evidently a very intelligent, well grounded and highly experienced journalist from his knowledge and analysis of issues on the Nigerian economy, social structure and politics. Sometimes, we exchanged well wishes on Fridays and festivals. He was a very good man,” the governor said.
Shettima said he has since directed a delegation to visit the deceased’s family.
In his own message signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi, Wada described the late Suleiman as a hard working and committed journalist who gave his best to the journalism profession both as a unionist where he served as deputy chairman of Abuja Council of the NUJ and in his career as a journalist.
The Governor prayed God to grant his family and the entire Media Trust Limited family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Also, Gover Jonah Jang of Plateau State yesterday commiserated with the management and staff of Media Trust Ltd over the death of the Managing Editor, Suleiman ibn Mohammed.
Jang who was formally informed of Suleiman’s death during an interaction with newsmen at the Government Lodge in Jishe, Jos, said to the gathering of reporters and media chiefs: “On behalf of my family and the government and people of Plateau State, I extend our condolences to Daily Trust  and to all of us who are his colleagues; and I ask for God’s comfort for all of us, particularly members of his family.”
