A member of the House of Representatives, representing Obokun and Oriade Federal Constituency from Osun State, Honourable Busayo Oluwole-Oke has posited that the demand of the National Assembly asking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was not a barrier.
He said this in a chat with Daily Trust on the sideline of the State Congress of the People’s Democratic Party at the Oshogbo City Stadium on Sunday where the new State Working Committee of the party was elected after the successful conclusion of ward, local and state congress.
Oluwole-Oke maintained that the demand of the National Assembly to INEC on the election schedule was a purely a legislative matter and that it would be properly dealt with.
According to him, "The National Assembly will deal with the issues of the ordering of the next year general election concerning how INEC scheduled the election timetable. We will do justice to this matter because constitutionally, INEC has its functions and constitutionally, National Assembly has its functions"
Oluwole-Oke noted that the emergence of the Honorable Olasoji Adagunodo led State Working Committee of Osun PDP has brought the internal crisis in the party to an end and urged all members of the party including the aggrieved to come together and work for the victory of the party in the September 22n governorship election in the state.
