The prelate said this yesterday in his homely at the requiem mass in honour of Prof Celestine Onwuliri at St. Jude Catholic Church Amuzi, in Ahiazu Mbaise local government area of Imo State.
The archbishop called for a well coordinated security system that will be able to tackle this unhealthy situation before anarchy reigns the country.
He said if this is not checked, it might trigger off an endless national religious conflict.
He urged the federal government and the security agencies to design a proactive and quick solutions in order to avert this.
He said Nigerians cannot afford another war, regretting that the perpetrators of the evil are provoking Nigerians into taking positions that could be dangerous for the country.
He urged the wife and children of the late Onwuliri to ensure up holding the legacies of their great father and husband, while describing him as a patriotic Nigerian.
In his condolence message, President Goodluck Jonathan through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim said that the death of Onwuliri has robbed Nigerians one of her most illustrious sons.
He described him as an accomplished administrator and a consummate academic who died in the course of his service to his nation.
The funeral was attended by ministers, Federal House of Representatives, Senators, governors among others.
