Kankara axis that includes: Kankara, Malumfashi, Musawa and Funtua local government areas has been a major target of armed robbers in recent time, Sunday Trust observed.
ASP Shehu Koko Muhammad, the Police Public Relations Officer told Sunday Trust yesterday that the suspects were arrested while carrying local weapons on a motorbike.
“Police believed that the suspects were those terrorizing Kankara axis in recent times. We observed that most of the operations are being carried out on motorbikes,” said Muhammad.
The police spokesperson explained that dangerous local weapons including knives, sticks and assorted charms were recovered from the suspects.
He said police have commenced further investigations assuring that if found guilty, the suspects would be prosecuted.
The police image-maker appealed to the general public to feed police with useful information that will help in reducing crimes in the state.
