Abuja residents mark Quds day, call for UN’s genuine intervention

At the beginning of the symposium organized by the Al-Huda International Cultural and Education Centre to mark the occasion, special prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of all Palestinian people who lost their lives in the cause of the over 50 years of Zionist occupation of their land; other oppressed people of the world as well as those who lost their lives during the eight-year Iran-Iraq war.

In his presentation, Dr Usman Mohammed of the Department of Political Science, University of Abuja, said that the continued stay and expansion of the Zionist settlement on the Palestinian territories remains the most inhuman activity in the region.

According to him, United States President, Barrack Hussein Obama, came with true zeal to solve the problem of the Middle East crisis and to stop the Zionists aggression on the Palestinian land but that unfortunately, he does not have a better understanding of the matter, insisting that without peace in the region, the world cannot have peace.
