Inexpensive car sometime become rotten choice

Now, the story is moving so fast, if not gone far for people to forget because of the events of tomorrow. In an overall view of the matter, the automotive corporation has done poorly on their product because their wahala has spurned over the century.

To start with, let’s admit that no person is perfect, therefore no group or manufacturer is perfect and no product from any of the manufacturers is perfect. We forgive, if not overlook politician’s errors in their office whenever and perhaps for whatever reasons we have or not. Then, we fall back to the reason of hope where we all started from.

Whatever you learn from your mistakes and whatever you do about them reveals your true character. When mistakes keep occurring from one person, it is only natural to give such persons less credit until he has got his nuts and bolts right- then you can blow his trumpet above others. Toyota has over the last decade, had it own share of woes which the public have excused for inexpensive purchase and running cost just to throw away in the next two to three years.

In Nigeria, both the private and public sectors have become patriots of the Toyota that even anyone who is looking in the market wants a Toyota because he or she sees it everywhere like a coke advert on the billboards around us. Mind you, many think a car is not an investment but neither is it frugal to keep changing it every now and then.

The market here in Nigeria has moved from preserving values like the old lovable Peugeot 504 to cars that we will use for about four years before giving out. It is like using a disposable cup which is at your mercy of being rumpled, kicked about, thrown into a trash can or being run over by a tyre. It has also instilled in us, the attitude anything goes which is often the reason why our cars never look the same after one year- which is also why we have patronized what we have- I’m talking about the 307 sedan. the 307 sedan is a Nigerian made car that has not received patronage as it should.

Only a few offices in the public sector have purchased these vehicles like the Federal Inland Revenue Service. Now, we hope to see the Samand come into market perhaps one or two years from now as Nigeria’s own and what is our response supposed to be?
