Al-Mustapha incarceration: Northern youths wants NSA to react to Jokolo’s allegation

Jokolo had on Thursday, while speaking on the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA) radio blamed the NSA for the continued incarceration of the for ADC.

According to Jokolo, former president Olusegun Obasanjo had agreed to release Al-Mustapha following the intervention of some prominent northern leaders but that General Gusau who was then the NSA advised him otherwise.

“The former president agreed to release Al-Mustapha immediately but to our surprise, days later he called us that the NSA said his release posed a security threat to the nation,’’ he said on VOA.

The deposed emir said the advice  given to the former president by General Gusau was responsible for the failure of the moves of the northern emirs to secure the release of Al-Mustapha.
