Oniye of Iye-Ekiti dies

The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre, said he was shocked when he received the news.

“I am still finding it difficult to believe that the Oniye, Oba Fakunle, a peace loving and high ranking traditional ruler in the state is no longer with us,” Oni said.

He added that in a moment like this, what we could only do is to pray for the repose of his soul and his prayer was that God in His infinite mercy, will console the family of the deceased and the entire people of Iye-Ekiti.

“I urge them to take the death as one of the inevitabilities of life.

“I also wish to express my heartfelt condolence to the State Council of Traditional Rulers on the monarch’s death and wish them and the family of the departed soul, including the entire people of Iye-Ekiti the continued support and guidance of the Almighty God,” he noted.
