The protesters, who marched from the Unity Fountain to the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, said the Killing of Shaikh Qasim Umar, a follower of Shaikh Zakzaky “has further exposed the agenda of the devilish politicians ruling Nigeria.”

S.I. Ahmed, who spoke on behalf of the movement, expressed concerns over the deteriorating health conditions of their leader and his wife, adding that the Nigerian government will be held responsible if anything happens to them.

“The Nigerian people and the international community should know that Shaikh Zakzaky has not been accused of committing any crime, detaining him illegally is a  clear violation of his Fundamental Human Rights,” he said
