Watch your tongue as it could become sword

Thousands of words come out of our mouth as we freely give opinions, judgements and thoughts on a daily basis however, we are oblivious of the negative effects some of these words have on ourselves and those around us. There is great power in the words that we utter but we do not realize it and do not put it to perfect use. It is said that words are so powerful that when repeated with emotion, they tend to bring out some other side of us.

Our words have tremendous power and create an action in others either negatively or positively. Everything we say produces an effect in the long run. There are times when we say things out of annoyance to someone and even our spouses and they end up having a negative effect on them whereby in some they lose balance and focus, which is not good for us or for them because whatever you say to someone produces some kind of effect in that person.

We all know how powerful our actions and words are in influencing others. Our words can bring hope to others and also to ourselves. Our words could be one of encouragement for ourselves and others. Words used in a responsible manner can be life enhancing or life threatening. Our words can bring comfort when we or others are experiencing difficult situations.

Words uttered with caution have a long lasting effect on whom it is been said to even after years after you must have uttered them, it will ring either a positive or negative bell for decades to come. Flinging words without realising what the impact might be is detrimental to our image and others. Once spoken, words are like bullets released from a gun and can never be stopped until it reaches its target. But the consequence can be stopped by trying to weigh your words before you utter them.

Many of us have memories of words that have been said to us by others that continue to ring bells anytime we see or remember such people late in life. Some of these words were uttered without understanding how much it might impact on the recipient of such words.

Words will always remain one weapon used for the sake of peace or destruction. While we all know how powerful our actions are in influencing others, we cannot lose sight of how powerful our words could be as well. So next time you want to utter that word, pause and think before you do it for it could be destructive at the end.
