Shazin who ran under the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) was declared winner of the chairman seat by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and has since been sworn-in.
Yebu is praying the FCT Electoral Petition Tribunal to upturn the chairman’s election citing non compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
At the resumed hearing last Tuesday, counsel to the petitioner, Chief Karina Tunya (SAN), tendered 10 exhibits claiming that the results of the election were altered showing disparity between what appears in the originals and duplicates of Form EC8A.
According to the counsel, Shazin was not duly elected by majority of lawful votes cast during the council election stressing that the poll was marred by gross misconduct and fraud.
