At the midway point on Wednesday, Usher’s Raymond v. Raymond has sold over 20 per cent more than its nearest rival The Defamation of Strickland Banks by Plan B. Usher’s album was also a chart-topper in the key U.S. market.
In the singles chart, Roll Deep’s Good Times has overtaken Usher’s OMG, which also features rapper Will.i.am, although its lead is less than two per cent.
Television music show Glee’s album, The Power Of Madonna, is a new entry at number three at the midweek stage, while other notable album arrivals include Bullet For My Valentine’s “Fever” and Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends.
The final chart positions would be announced tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Usher’s spokesperson has dismissed internet reports the R&B superstar is expecting a baby with his new girlfriend – insisting rumours of a pregnancy and an engagement are not true.
The Yeah! hitmaker is said to be dating Def Jam executive Grace Miguel following his split from wife Tameka Foster in 2008.
Online gossips were frenzy earlier this week following a report that Miguel is pregnant with the star’s baby.
The story, which appeared on website TheYBF.com, also claimed Usher had asked Miguel to marry him – but his rep is adamant the claims are false, telling E! Online, “there is absolutely no truth to it.”
