Kano First Bank sealed over tax

All the bank entrances were sealed after staffs of the bank were asked to vacate their offices and customers that were already within the banking hall were also asked to go out, generating confusion.

Mallam Muhammad said as a result of the uncooperative attitude of First Bank, the board was left with no option than to enforce the law accordingly. “We sent reminder upon reminder but the bank kept postdating our efforts. As a result, on the 15th of January 2010 we sent them a warrant. After two months of sending the warrant, the bank replied telling us they are working on it and that they will get back to us, up till now.” Attempts to reach bank spokespersons or executives proved abortive.
