CBN to support infrastructure deployment in financial institutions

Delivering a paper titled; ‘creating a healthy financial system through regulation,’ the Deputy Governor said CBN is looking at the possibilities of holding vendors accountable for supply of substandard or obsolete technologies within the industry as part of measures that will ensure structured development of robust technology. He said: “This is particularly important as the industry develops and expand alternative and self service channels for consumers of financial services eg, ATMs, cards technology, internet banking, telephone banking etc.” He added that the development will drive down industry’s cost structures, improve levels of services and customers confidence.
