Seplat Petroleum Development Company PLC has appointed Effiong Okon as its executive operations director.
The Nigerian oil and gas exploration and production firm said in a statement that Okon previously undertook senior technical and leadership roles at FTSE 100-listed Royal Dutch Shell PLC.
He served as a general manager for deepwater production for Shell Nigeria.
Seplat’s Chief Executive Officer Austin Avuru said: “We are pleased to welcome Effiong to Seplat. He brings a wealth of relevant operational experience from 26 years in the industry with Shell and has an in-depth understanding of the Nigerian sector coupled with international experience.
“Effiong is a great addition to the team and we look forward to his contribution as we seek to build and grow oil and gas output across our portfolio.”
