Jonathan’s ex-CSO: SSS wants account of my tenure

An officer of the SSS, Gordon Obuah who served as the CSO to Jonathan was reported to have died in custody at the head offices of the Service in Abuja.
However, speaking to journalists at the head offices of the Service in Abuja, Obuah said he was alive and healthy.
He stated that: “I thank  Nigerians and members of my family who have expressed very serious concern about my well-being in the last six days.”
A section of the media also reported that Obuah was detained and denied access to his lawyers and family.
Obuah added that: “This [yesterday]morning my attention was drawn to the fact that I have died in detention, this has caused serious anxiety within the office, I want to use this medium to tell Nigerians, members of my family, and all concerned citizens that I’m healthy.”
He also said: “I’m a staff of the Department of State Services, and having completed my tour of duty as Chief Security Officer to the last President, the Service feels that I should give account of my tenure. So far, there is no adverse situation and I am optimistic that Nigerians will be informed in due course about the outcome of this exercise.”
Obuah further said: “Nigerians should be assured that the Department of State Services is a very matured and responsible organization and I believe that nothing adverse would be done to my person if I have not done anything wrong.”
Attempts to ask Obuah questions were not allowed by officials of the Service who presented Obuah before the media.
The officials of the SSS had asked journalists not to take photographs of the officer who coordinated the presentation of Obuah to the media.
However, when journalists insisted on asking Obuah questions, Obuah interjected saying: “I am a member of the State Security Service, I am still in Service, and I have limitations on addressing the press, please I crave for your understanding.”
