Lawan, Akume reject Saraki’s election, heads to court

 

Members of the Senate Unity Forum Loyal to Senator Ahmad Lawan (Yobe state) and Senator George Akume ( Benue state)  have rejected the election of Senator Bukola Saraki and Senator Ike Ekwerenmadu as senate President and Deputy Senate President President respectively.

Members of the senate unity forum loyal to Lawan, who were absent in the chamber yesterday when the 8th senate was inaugurated rejected the election that took place while they were holding a meeting with the APC national leadership and the president at the International Conference Centre Abuja. in a press conference they addressed Wednesday.

 They also said they are going to court over the election of Saraki which they rejected.

Meanwhile, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has sworn in 27 other senators.
