The group said that Kwara deserves the position for being the only state in the North-Central where APC cleared all the elective offices.
Coordinator of the group, Mr. Mohammed Ajibola, at a press conference yesterday advocated for the ceding of the position to the North-Central.
“More so, out of other regions in the country, only the North Central could be said to have delivered 100 per cent to the party during the last general elections.
“And more importantly, the position should come to Kwara State; the result of the general elections speaks for itself in this regard because in the North Central, only Kwara was able to deliver all elective positions available in the state to APC,” he said.
He made a case for Saraki whom, he said, had the requisite experience to lead the Senate having chaired the Governors’ forum in the past and made the forum a force to be reckoned with in the country.
Ajibola also said that Saraki is known throughout the nation as a symbol of unity, while “his boldness opened eyes of many Nigerians and majority of the party supporters to the rot in the present administration.”
He added that the APC leader also played crucial roles in the emergence of General Muhammadu Buhari as the APC presidential flag bearer and to the success of the party in the just concluded polls.
