They were reportedly abandoned by their abductors for fear of being arrested by the police team who had been on their trail since last Wednesday when the abduction happened.

It was yet to be ascertained if any ransom was paid to secure their release by the parents of the kids.

The nanny, Mary Akinloye, who was sourced from the online sales portal OLX left the house with the three kids barely 24 hours on the job last Wednesday.

Ms Akinloye and her gang later called the parents demanding for a N15 million ransom.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kenneth Nwosu who confirmed their rescue to Daily Trust on Phone said that the kidnappers fled abandoning the children when the pressure on them was becoming too high.

According to him, the children were picked up by the police from an abandoned house somewhere around Akowonjo area of Lagos.

“I can confirm to you that the three kids have been rescued by the police. They are currently being treated at the Nigeria Police Hospital, Ikeja. Their parents are also with them at the hospital. They would be allowed to go home with their parents as soon as they are certified OK to go home by the doctors,” he added.

Kenneth Nwosu however, did not disclosed if any ransom was paid.

The father of the kids, Lere Orekoya, also confirmed the development in a text message.

He however, did not give details on how they were rescued, but he thanked all journalists for the assistance they rendered while the family’s ordeal lasted.

Mary and her gang however demanded for an initial ransom of N15 million as ransom for the release of the kids.

They were said to have reduced the ransom demand to N13 million, after much pleading from the parents of the children.

They threatened to kill the children if their demands were not met.
