The police in Kebbi State have busted a syndicate that allegedly specialises in gun manufacturing in the state. The command also arrested 18 suspected motorcycle thieves who it said were responsible for many cases of motorcycle snatching and stealing in different areas of the state.
While parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Ibraim Kabiru, said one of the suspects, Abu Alkali aka ‘Wizi’, was arrested at Unguwar Dan-Sanda at Bena area of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
He said, “In our effort to carry out the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to curb proliferation of illegal arms and ammunition, we were able to arrest the suspects and recovered a total of 11 assorted weapons; including six double barrel and five single barrel guns.”
He added that the command also recovered 11 motorcycles from the suspected thieves.
