Absence of candidates stalls peace accord signing in Sokoto

The signing of the accord was slated for yesterday by the Zone 10 Police Command of the Nigeria Police.
The signing had to deferred to a  later date as agreed by the political parties  following the absence of the two gubernatorial  candidates.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr Bala Hassan, said in view of recent happenings in the state due to heightened political activities towards the elections, it was necessary for political leaders to eschew violence and conduct politics without bitterness.
