He made the appeal in a message to Nigerian Christians, as they joined others worldwide in observing the annual period of Lent.
In the statement which he personally signed, Buhari admonished Nigerians to abhor discrimination on grounds of ethnicity, religion, gender and political orientation and work for a united, peaceful and progressive country.
