Arik Air debunks minister’s claim on fuel theft

The airline in a statement yesterday said investigations revealed that the three people caught at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos Sunday were siphoning fuel from a fuel truck and not from its aircraft as reported by the minister on his Facebook wall.
The statement signed by its spokesman, Mr. Adebanji Ola, also said the airline does not have an aircraft with registration number 5N MID. He said the suspects were arrested by the FAAN Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel.
