Zaria market fire victims receive N13.3m donation

Chairman of the market association, Alhaji Abubakar Bagobiri, made this known weekend during an interview with newsmen in Zaria.
According to Bagobiri, Vice President Namadi Sambo and Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero  each donated N5 million, while Senator Ahmad Muhammad Makarfi  made a contribution of N1 million.
“Various candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kaduna State have also made donations. We have set up a committee to disburse the donation to victims,” he said.
 Alhaji Abubakar said investigation conducted by the association revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical fault.  He therefore appealed to the Kaduna State government to install a transformer in the market to enable traders switch off power at the end of business every day.
