Adesina, who said Kano State had the highest share of the compensation with N100 million allocated to it, added that the ministry had been working with governments of affected states to tackle the virus.
He said Kano State recorded the highest number of affected farms and that 299,883 birds had been isolated in 15 local government areas.
In his address, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the agricultural sector and assured the minister of the state’s cooperation towards eradicating the disease.
