Soldiers quell riot in Suleja

A witness said the vehicles, a bus and a Hilux van, were set ablaze at the Old Minna Motor Park in Suleja. It was not immediately clear what triggered the action, as sources said it was the handiwork of hoodlums, dismissing the involvement of the APC. The incident occurred shortly after the campaign train of the state PDP gubernatorial candidate left the town.
Police spokesman, DSP Ibrahim Gambari, confirmed the incident, saying the campaign vehicles belonged to the Ogun State chapter of the President Jonathan campaign organization.
According to him, the drivers of the vehicles might have gone to the park to look for passengers.
He added that following a combined effort of security agencies, normalcy was restored while investigation into the matter was in progress.
