The stations were also sealed over hoarding and outright diversion of the product; this is in addition to the 96 filling stations that were sealed between December and Mid-February, as announced by the department last week.

Disclosing the sealing of the filling stations to newsmen in Kano, DPR team leader Kano/Jigawa operations, Paul Jehzi stated said it was part of the department’s mandate of ensuring that fuel is being sold to the public at the official pump price of N145 per litre.

According to him, Garba Mohammed investment oil  company Ltd in Shuwarin area of the Jigawa was found to have diverted 130, 000 litters fuel which warranted out right sealing of the premises.

He further revealed that another filling station that was automatically closed down was found selling at N180 per litre with a stock of over 25, 900 litres adding that the team had to order for the sale of about 2, 000 litres at NNPC filling station, Olusegun Obasanjo way in Dutse.

“To ensure availability of the product even though the states under the DPR’s zone are virtually undersupplied, We have given out contact numbers to buyers of PMS at filling stations to quickly call us and the security operatives as soon as they notice change in price and  the new strategy is really working and helping a lot, ” stated Paul.
