Results of the governorship election in three more LGAs of Plateau state have been announced. Results in Jos East, Kanke and Riyom bring to eight the number of LGAs so far announced from early afternoon Sunday.
For Jos East, APC got 15,356 votes to beat PDP landslide, as PDP polled 7,752. PDP got the superior votes of 23,118 against APC’s 18,458 in Kanke, while PDP got 37,793 votes in Riyom to be by far the superior of APC which polled 7, 253.
In Shendam, APC polled 40, 464 to score a landslide win against PDP which had 14,476.
Barkin-Ladi LGA was declared next, with PDP getting 56,933 votes to beat APC to a distant second, of 13,151 votes.
In Langtang North, APC polled 25,202 votes to defeat PDP which received 23,045.
The results for Mikang and Bassa were as follows: Mikang LGA: APC 12,512; PDP 11,522. Bassa LGA: APC 28,770; PDP 34,341
Poll officials and party agents were however still trying to sort out certain complaints over the Riyom result when this report was filed at 3.40 pm Sunday.
