Many youths took to street football as a way of engaging themselves while the accreditation exercise was ongoing.
At Alasia, youths between the ages of 17 and 25 converged at an open field by the bus stop playing football.
Some of them who spoke to Sunday Trust said that they do not believe that the exercise will be free and fair.
“Why waste my time for an exercise that had already been concluded in favour of a particular candidate. The exercise is a mere formality as far as Lagos State is concerned. The man who will be our governor had been decided long before now”, Mike Emanalor said before he ran away to join his mate in the game.
Another one claimed that he had done his accreditation and that he decided to join others to play football, as a way of whiling away time before the commencement of voting.
“My polling unit is 009, and I am among the first set of people to be accredited by INEC officials today . I am aware that the exercise will end at 1pm and voting will commence immediately. I will join others then. However, let me exercise myself before voting begins” Fatai Balogun said.
