Malaysia names envoy to Nigeria

The Malaysian Government has appointed the director Sarawak Regional Office in the Foreign Ministry, Gloria Corina Anak Peter Tiwet as high commissioner to Nigeria.

She is the first Sarawak-born woman of Dayak ethnicity to be appointed as a Malaysian envoy.

According to a statement from the ministry, Gloria, who will be the new Malaysian High Commissioner in Nigeria is one of the five people who received their instruments of appointment as Malaysian envoys from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, at Istana Negara.

She was the director of the ASEAN Main Logistics Secretariat of the Foreign Ministry from 2015 to 2016 and had also served in various capacities in Sweden, Argentina and Chile.
