Suswam looses senatorial race

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state has lost his senatorial bid to incumbent Senator Barnabas Gemade of All Progressive Congress (APC).

Suswam of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored a total of 118, 603 votes to loose the election to Gemade who polled a total of 140, 715 votes.

Returning officer, of the keenly contested Zone A Benue North East senatorial district, Prof. Ignatius Adah announced the result at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Makurdi at exactly 11:05 pm.
