SMEDAN urges MSMEs operators to get managerial skills

The Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Dr Dikko Umar Radda, has said a critical constraint that MSMEs face is their lack of business management capacity.                     
Radda stated this at the opening ceremony of the Enterprise Management training for artisans in Abuja yesterday.                                                        
“We are strategically empowering business men and women to increase their management efficiency and effectiveness in order to contribute to national development,” Radda said.        
He added that the programme is designed to build the capacity of the participants to be able to identify business opportunities, improve on their ability to market their products and services, keep accurate records and develop bankable business plan with a view to accessing finance.       
A participant, Mr Henry Eziefule of Zanda Fish and Packaging firm said he hope d to learn more management skills to enable him manage his business.  
Another participant, Miss Abiola Olukunle said the training is a big opportunity to learn skills to upgrade her business.     
The Manager, HR /Asset Management of the Abuja Enterprise Agency, Mr Chudi Ezirigwe urged participants to use the training and avail themselves of the skills to improve their businesses.
