ASUP threatens shut down of Kadpoly

The Kaduna Polytechnic chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has threatened to shut down the institution over the re-appointment of Dr. Muhammed Bello Ibrahim as the rector.

Addressing newsmen yesterday in Kaduna, the ASUP Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Hassan Ibrahim warned President Mohammadu Buhari against the re-appointment of Dr. Ibrahim as rector; describing Ibrahim’s reappointment as a mistake and disaster in waiting.

While expressing concern over the level of infrastructural and academic decadence in the polytechnic in the past four years of the rector’s administration, he said his re-appointment would mean another four years of disaster for students and staff of the institution; alleging that the rector performed poorly in the last four years due to corruption, mismanagement and misappropriation of funds, among other things.
